Tesla produced 53,339 vehicles and delivered 40,740 vehicles in 2018 Q2
In an official press release, electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors has disclosed the exact numbers pertaining to the production and delivery of its electric cars in the April-June 2018 quarter.
According to the figures revealed by Tesla Motors in the official press release, the company’s total production of electric cars in the reporting quarter was 53,339 units, including a significant 28,578 units of the Model 3. The production numbers for Model 3 during the quarter were higher than expected.
So far as Tesla’s deliveries for the 2018 second quarter are concerned, the automaker delivered 40,740 units of its electric cars during the quarter.
Going by the breakdown of the deliveries given by Tesla, the total number of Model S units delivered by the automaker in the second quarter stood at 10,930; with Model X deliveries being 11,370 units, and Model 3 deliveries being a lower-than-anticipated number of 18,440 units.
However, the most remarkable achievement highlighted by Tesla is a recent confirmation by the company that it achieved the targeted ‘5,000 units per week’ production rate for the Model 3 at the end of the April-June 2018 quarter. As per a leaked email sent by Tesla CEO Elon Musk to employees, the automaker produced 5,031 units of Model 3 in the last week of the quarter.
