Electrify America releases map of planned EV charging stations
In a move which indicates that Electrify America is all set to expand its planned electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the US, the company has recently released a map of its massive network across the United States.
The release of the map comes within weeks of Electrify America’s launch of EV charging stations with new suppliers in April, and the company’s announcements that it is partnering with Walmart and Target for the deployment of some of its charging stations.
The map released by Electrify America -- the company created as part of Volkswagen’s emissions-cheating-scandal settlement with California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) -- reveals that the routes for the planned deployment of the company’s ‘ultra-fast’ EV charging stations have been finalized.
Although the map does not indicate all the precise locations at which Electrify America will deploy its EV charging stations, it does show some exact locations of the charging stations, particularly in California and in the Northeast.
About its plans to deploy a massive EV charging network in the US, Electrify America recently said that, as part of its “Cycle One infrastructure investment,” the company will ensure that the planned 2,000+ EV charging stations are “operational or under construction at 484 sites in 17 metropolitan areas and on highways in 39 states by the end of 2019.”
